About Woodbridge Chamber Concerts (WCC)

WCC held its inaugural concerts in the summer of 2008 with the full support of the Rector and the PCC of St Mary’s Parish Church Woodbridge.

Its aims are:

  • To provide a platform for young professional musicians of the highest calibre

  • To promote Woodbridge Parish Church as a centre for chamber music recitals

  • To feature, where possible, performances of English music

  • To forge links with the two secondary schools in Woodbridge, to encourage and support music making and provide opportunities to experience concerts of classical music

WCC is a  non profit making organisation which relies mainly on ticket sales for its funding with some support from sponsors. It has no subscription paying members and is run by the organiser John Treadway and a band of volunteers many of whom are fellow concert stewards from Aldeburgh Music.

The organiser is a member of the Ipswich Arts Association and is also a trustee of the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society and its East Anglian representative.

WCC works in collaboration with other societies and organisations, promoting classical music in the area to ensure, where possible, dates, artists and programmes are not duplicated.
